I recently started redesigning my WordPress website. I would like to share with you a few useful WordPress SEO tips and tricks, video tutorials, and articles that were beneficial to me for improving my website’s visibility.

Formatting Blog Posts

Create plenty of headings, use small paragraphs, high resolution images, and videos.

Use Categories & Tags

Use categories, and tags on your WordPress website. 

Categories are used to sort and group content into different sections.

Tags describe certain details of your post, similar to keywords.



Links

Add links internal and external meaning links to other websites, and also links to other pages on your website. Find out more…



Fonts

Make sure the font and font size is easy to view.

Concise & Clear Writing

Keep your writing simple and clear, and have a clear target audience in mind.



Alt tags

Optimize all your images with alt tags

(you’ll see this field when you upload the image file). 



Proofread Your Work

Avoid duplicate content and grammar mistakes.



Shareable Content

Make your content shareable. (One Plugin option is the Ultimate Social Icons and Share Plugin which covers over 200+ social media platforms and is a free plugin). Another option is the Easy Share Plugin or the Simple Social buttons !










Permalinks

Set up Permalinks.

The URLs of your website pages and posts are called Permalinks.

Adding a keyword is usually helpful. Keep your slugs short — preferably five words or less.

Google Analytics

Sitemap

Create a sitemap for your website. Yoast SEO or XML Sitemaps Generator are easy to use options that I have used.



Titles & Meta Tags

Write effective titles and meta tags. Platinum SEO Pack plugin offers this feature if you find writing effective titles and meta tags difficult.


Edit Yoast SEO Snippets

At the bottom of your post you can edit the Snippet that appears on  Google which is a part of the Yoast SEO plugin.
